Motivation Monday-I conquered a mountain
Yesterday I set a goal. I had a positive attitude and I gave it my everything. I raced to the top of Loon Mountain at the Loon Mountain Race faster than I ever thought I could proving to myself that when I do it for myself, I can accomplish anything and be proud. And . . .just look at the smile on my face!
The course was 5 miles to the summit of Loon Mountain with the last section of the race at an unbelievable 40% grade up the Black Diamond trail Upper Walking Boss. I had a blast and I think I was smiling the whole time I was racing even when the course was super challenging. My finish time was 1:06.05 which had I raced in the elite field would have given me a time good enough to place me 20th out of 21. I am so psyched with this finish time and may re-evaluate some of my race goals and plans for the future. We’ll see!
